EVENTS

Cosmos amateur workshop project

Cosmos has now developed another form: movement workshops with amateurs. They will shortly be starting in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in response to interest from the  local artistic and spiritual communities. This began in Paris in 2010 as a cutting-edge research project, Practical Theology of the Body. Working with colleagues in the Theology of the Arts section of the Institut Catholique de Paris, Cosmos director Dominic White began with weekly sessions of relaxation, meditation and improvised movement.

Cosmos on the labyrinth

The Echo républicain newspaper (26 June 2011) hailed the “astonishing choreography” of Lambert Vadrot’s interpretation of Cosmos at Chartres cathedral on 24th June. The Indian dancer, working on the labyrinth of the cathedral, brought Cosmos to new heights before hundreds of pilgrims who had come to the “Night of the Cathedrals”, a celebration of Midsummer’s Night, which is also the birthday of the Christian prophet St. John the Baptist.
